The Athletics Attnang-Puchheim are one of Austria’s most established baseball and softball clubs. Since our founding, we have stood for passion, team spirit, commitment, and sustainable development in the sport of baseball. Our goal is to support players of all ages – from the youngest to adults – both athletically and personally. We believe in the power of sports to build community and inspire people.
Your Role
As Head of Player Development / Head Coach, you will be responsible for the athletic development of our players and the strategic direction of our training operations. You will work with all age groups – from U8 to adults – and lead a dedicated team of volunteer coaches, whom you will guide and support professionally. The long term goal is to establish an elite academy program in addition to a strongly based club youth program. You will report directly to the Youth Development Board Members, with whom you will also plan budgets, initiatives, and strategic goals.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and partly conduct age-appropriate training programs. Lead one practice per team per week
- Develop a holistic Player Development Plan (technical, tactical, physical, mental)
- Provide professional guidance, training, and mentoring to volunteer coaches
- Support and develop individual talents and high-performance athletes. Including one on one sessions with the top talents
- Coach at games and tournaments on national and international levels
- Organize and conduct tryouts, camps, and clinics
- Collaborate closely with the club’s board to further develop the athletic philosophy
- Serve as a liaison to the Austrian Baseball Federation’s high-performance program
Your Profile – What You Should Bring
- Several years of experience as a baseball coach, ideally across various age groups
- Proven expertise in player development (e.g., certifications, licenses, references)
- Experience in leading and coaching teams
- Strong pedagogical skills and enthusiasm for working with children and youth
- Solid knowledge in training planning, technical instruction, and game analysis
- Ability to work in a structured, independent, and team-oriented manner
- Willingness to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, travel)
- Pre existing work permit and visa for Austria OR EU Citizenship (mandatory)
- Fluent in English; German skills are a plus
